SCOPE OF WORK
The Child Care Giver is responsible for the care of infants and toddlers in the daycare center. This includes; feedings, diapering, nurturing (holding, soothing when upset) and providing age appropriate learning activities. The Child Care Giver will be required to use the HELP checklist Book as a curriculum-based assessment. The HELP Checklist Book provides skills, behaviors and strategies to use when planning structured activities for infants and toddlers. This role is ideal for a compassionate, ethical, and motivated professional dedicated to strengthening youth recovery and community wellness.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and implement age-appropriate learning activities that support infants' and toddlers' cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development through hands-on exploration and early literacy experiences. Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of children by maintaining proper supervision, following hygiene and sanitation procedures, and providing a healthy environment. Support children's social and emotional development by modeling positive behavior, encouraging empathy and respect, and helping children develop appropriate interactions with others. Provide responsive daily care routines including feeding according to individual schedules, preparing children for meals and naps, and meeting their developmental and physical needs. Maintain effective communication and collaboration with families, supervisors, and staff to support children's needs and contribute to a positive childcare environment. Perform administrative and professional responsibilities including record keeping, planning, reporting concerns, and participating in required staff meetings and training.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must have a high school or GED with one and one-half (1 ½) years' experience in an Early Childhood setting. Must complete annual physical, TB Skin test, CPR, and Food Handler's Certification.
SHIFT:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
