This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, administration, compliance, and overall management of the facility while ensuring a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children and staff. The ideal candidate must not only demonstrate strong leadership, classroom management, and early childhood education experience, but must also fully meet the qualifications required by the State of Nevada for approval as a Child Care Director. Applicants who do not meet the required education, experience, and Nevada Registry qualifications for director status will not be considered. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape early learning experiences, support staff development, and maintain the highest standards of care, safety, and regulatory compliance. Duties Manage daily operations of the childcare facility while ensuring full compliance with Nevada licensing regulations, health standards, and safety requirements Lead, supervise, and support teaching staff and caregivers in delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate activities for infants, toddlers, preschool-aged children, and children with special needs Develop and implement curriculum plans that support cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development Maintain strong classroom management practices and foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment Communicate professionally with parents and families regarding children's progress, behavioral concerns, and program updates Ensure all staff maintain current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and child safety procedures Coordinate staff training and professional development related to early childhood education, behavior management, and state compliance standards Maintain accurate records including attendance, developmental tracking, incident reports, staff scheduling, and licensing documentation Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and excellence in caregiving Ensure the facility remains fully prepared for inspections, audits, and licensing reviews Minimum Qualifications & Director Approval Requirements Applicants MUST meet the qualifications required under Nevada Administrative Code (NRS 432A.1773) to be approved for Director status by the State of Nevada and The Nevada Registry. To qualify, applicants must: Be at least 21 years of age; and meet one of the following education and experience requirements: Hold an Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education and have at least 1,000 verifiable hours of experience in a child care facility; OR Hold an Associate's Degree or higher in a field other than Early Childhood Education, have completed at least 15 semester hours in Early Childhood Education or related courses , and have at least 2,000 verifiable hours in a child care facility; OR Hold a High School Diploma or GED (if approved), have completed at least 15 semester hours in Early Childhood Education or related courses , and have at least 3,000 hours of experience in a child care facility; OR Hold a current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential for preschool or infant/toddler care and have at least 2,000 verifiable hours in a child care facility; OR Possess a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent by the Nevada licensing authority. Additionally, applicants must: Have at least 1,000 verifiable hours in an administrative position OR completed coursework/training in business administration Be eligible to apply to and maintain active registration with The Nevada Registry Be capable of providing all required documentation for state licensing verification and director approval Preferred Qualifications Strong knowledge of Nevada childcare licensing regulations and compliance standards Previous leadership or director-level experience in a childcare or early education setting Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Experience working with diverse families and children with varying developmental needs Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply Important Notice This position is contingent upon the applicant successfully meeting all Nevada state licensing requirements and receiving approval for Director status.
