Position Title:
Child Care Registrar As a Child Care Registrar you will be part of a team-oriented work environment that values individual team members' contributions, appreciation for diversity and confidentiality standards of the agency.
Job Overview:
The Registrar is responsible for the inspection, monitoring, registration and support to a caseload of Family Day Care (FDC) homes and School-Age Child Care (SACC) programs.
General Skill Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct program site inspections of registered FDC and SACC, document and record results ensuring reports are prepared within time frames required by New York State.
- Provide technical assistance and support to registered FDC and SACC programs.
- Prepare and review for completeness and accuracy of inspections, corrective action plans and enforcement referrals.
- Conduct documentation reviews and record compliance of regulated programs.
- Assist with intake of daycare related complaints.
- Review and prepare pertinent paperwork related to program midpoint and renewals of registered programs.
- Conduct compliance and safety assessment investigations and provide detailed findings and reports in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Collect and timely input data related to the
NYS OCFS
Comprehensive Background Checks (CBC)
- Collaborate with other departments at the Child Care Council to provide comprehensive resources to childcare providers.
- Conduct informational sessions for potential childcare providers.
- Participate in mandated and regulated trainings as required
- Assist with other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Education or related field.
- Two or more years' experience working in child care setting.
- Ability to apply customer service skills, representing the Child Care Council in a positive way while working with the public.
- Analytical and problem solving abilities, strong organizational skills, and ability to multi-task and problem solve as needed.
- Technology proficient; able to learn new platforms as needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Some basic knowledge of New York State Child Care Regulations preferred.
- Commitment to the mission of the Child Care Council of Suffolk and desire to work with individuals from all of the different communities in Suffolk County.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- This position requires travel to child care programs throughout Suffolk County.
Candidates must have a valid New York State Driver's License and use of a vehicle. Mileage reimbursement for all travel is provided.
Salary Range:
$55,000 - $60,000 plus benefits package.
