Mom is a stay-at-home parent and she is looking for someone who is excited to serve as a true extra set of hands—someone who can seamlessly balance childcare responsibilities with household support and family assistant duties. The ideal candidate is warm, calm, organized, proactive, and flexible, with excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to become part of the rhythm of the family's home. This is a highly collaborative role for someone who understands when to step in and take initiative, and when to step back and allow parents to take the lead. Schedule
  • Monday-Friday, approximately 9:30 AM-6:30 PM
  • Guaranteed hours
  • Occasional flexibility to stay later as needed
  • Family is generally flexible and may occasionally have a later start time depending on morning activities and classes
  • If possible, additional coverage during the summer is appreciated, including 7-day support when they're in the Hamptons for the summer, or the family can keep the regular 5-day schedule. Children
  • Daughter, 2 years old
  • Second baby due in December
  • Family plans to have a night nurse for the first five months after the new baby arrives
  • The family would love someone with infant experience who can confidently support the transition to two children. The family values learning, curiosity, creativity, and developmentally appropriate engagement. Their daughter is bright, curious, and will not be attending full-time preschool for a couple more years. The ideal candidate enjoys supporting early childhood development through:
  • Reading
  • Creative play
  • Educational activities
  • Outdoor exploration
  • Age-appropriate learning opportunities The toddler attends preschool daily from 2:00 PM-4:30 PM, and mom typically handles drop-off. Responsibilities Childcare
  • Full childcare support for a toddler and eventually an infant
  • Supporting developmental milestones
  • Planning engaging, age-appropriate activities
  • Assisting with infant feeding and introducing solids when appropriate
  • Supporting routines, learning, and emotional development Household & Family Assistant Duties During naps, preschool hours, and quieter periods, the family would love someone proactive who is comfortable shifting into household support, including:
  • Meal preparation for mom and the children
  • Children's laundry
  • Organizing children's spaces, closets, toys, and supplies
  • Stocking snacks and household essentials
  • General tidying and maintaining organization
  • Helping keep the household running smoothly
  • Occasionally walking the family's small dog (10 pounds) if needed The family has a housekeeper 2x per week, so no deep cleaning is required.
Summer & Travel The family splits their time between NYC and the Hamptons. From approximately mid-May through mid-September, the role transitions to a live-in position in the Hamptons. Candidates must have their own housing arrangements while the family is in NYC. Ideal Candidate
  • Warm, calm, capable, and highly organized
