Job Description

PART-TIME
32.5 hours/week on the UES Overview A lovely family on the UES is looking for a part-time nanny to join their team. We've worked with them for a number of years and adore them! They are seeking an experienced candidate to join their team weekdays from 12 PM to 6:30 PM. In this role, you will spend the most time with the older children aged 6 and 4, but you should feel confident supporting their infant aged child as well. There will be times when the nanny may be responsible for occasionally stepping in with all three children as schedules shift. A genuine interest in all three children and a mindset of being helpful to the overall household is important. The family also has a home in the Hamptons and relocates there every summer from June through Labor Day. Ideally, the position becomes live-in during the week over the summer months, with the nanny returning home on weekends. Initially it was very important to be in the Hamptons for the summer, however, as the boys are getting older this is not a strict criteria. They are open to discussing a modified schedule to make this easy for everyone. The Ideal Candidate for this Job The family is looking for an experienced and confident candidate and the ideal candidate will be a true team player: adaptable, proactive, and someone who takes a "see a need, fill a need" approach. It is important to the family that candidates are very engaging and warm while also ensuring that the boys are disciplined appropriately and raised to be well-mannered, well-behaved boys. Swimming (the ability to jump in and save a child) is required, as there is a pool on the property. Prior experience working on the UES and familiarity with the neighborhood is a significant plus. Excitement and willingness to travel internationally and domestically with the family is also required. Most importantly, the family is hoping to find someone who feels invested in the rhythm of the home; someone who is flexible, supportive, collaborative and highly professional. Schedule Monday - Friday 12 PM to 6:30 PM About the Children The family has an infant baby girl and two older school aged children. They are lighthearted, warm and loving and make long-term connections with caregivers. They enjoy a team mentality. Responsibilities Responsibilities include help with homework and getting the boy to/from after school activities. You will also provide coverage for the infant as needed, and therefore comfort managing multiple children at once is important. The family is looking for someone with a strong sense of proactivity and can ensure organization and to help with their daily lives (i.e. grocery shopping, light tasks) and if supplies are running low, they will provide a credit card so items can be purchased as needed. They would love a candidate who is open to cooking meals and provide light housekeeping. Additional Information All candidates for consideration should have: At least 5-7 years of professional nanny experience (or equivalent) In-person CPR certification (or a willingness to renew prior to a trial) Three professional childcare references Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and willingness to be paid on the books
