As a Childcare Center Driver, you will be responsible for transporting children in a safe, timely manner while maintaining excellent communication with staff and parents. Responsibilities Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including shuttle buses, vans, and other child-friendly transport vehicles, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations. Pick up and drop off children at designated locations, adhering to scheduled routes and timeframes. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in optimal condition, including checking mechanical systems, brakes, lights, and safety equipment. Assist children during boarding and disembarking, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs; report any issues promptly to the appropriate personnel. Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and emergency responders when necessary to coordinate transportation details or address concerns. Load and unload necessary supplies or equipment using appropriate tools such as pallet jacks or manual handling techniques when required. Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating commercial vehicles such as buses, vans, or box trucks is highly preferred. Proven experience in shuttle driving, school bus driving, or delivery driver roles involving route driving and vehicle navigation. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues; familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is advantageous. Strong communication skills to interact professionally with children, parents, staff, and emergency personnel. Ability to move children safely onto and off vehicles; physical stamina for loading/unloading supplies or assisting children as needed. Knowledge of safety protocols related to transporting young children in compliance with local regulations and best practices. Prior warehouse experience or familiarity with heavy equipment operation (e.g., forklift) is a plus but not required.
