Job Description

Childcare Floater Position Summary Our Childcare Floaters are essential to keeping our classrooms running smoothly. This role provides support across all age groups and classrooms, stepping in wherever needed to make sure children are cared for, teachers are supported, and our center continues to provide a safe, fun, and nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities Step into classrooms as needed to maintain teacher-to-child ratios. Cover staff breaks, planning time, and absences. Assist lead and assistant teachers in carrying out lesson plans and daily routines. Supervise and engage children in developmentally appropriate activities. Support transitions such as meals, rest time, outdoor play, and classroom changes. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment by helping with sanitizing, tidying toys, and setting up classroom materials. Encourage positive behavior and model respectful communication with children and staff. Build relationships with children to provide consistent care even when moving between classrooms. Assist with daily care tasks such as diapering, toileting, handwashing, and helping with meals. Be flexible and responsive to the changing needs of classrooms throughout the day. Work closely with teachers and leadership to keep a positive, team-focused culture.
