- Full-time Child Care Resource and Referral of Southeast Iowa, a program of Community Action of Eastern Iowa, is seeking a Child Care Consultant to cover a caseload in Johnson County and/or the surrounding area.
Child Care Consultant:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education with an Endorsement, or a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or Social Work or Child and Family Services. Please submit transcripts and/or diploma to ccrria@caeiowa.org Open positions will provide services to a caseload of providers located in Southeast Iowa. Our child care consultant team covers the following counties: Benton, Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Henry, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Lee, Linn, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Tama, VanBuren and Washington. The position has the flexibility to telecommute (work from home) with required work on site for visits, meetings and professional development. Responsibilities of a Child Care Consultant include: Supporting child care programs in meeting the Iowa HHS regulations and implementing appropriate early care and education practices for children Encouraging and supporting child care programs to participate in the Iowa Quality 4 Kids (IQ4K) Outreach to programs to provide technical assistance, including on-site consultation and coaching, Working alongside with child care programs to assess program strengths and needs of their program Creating plans and goals with child care programs to implement continuous quality improvement within their programs Assisting child care programs in the development and implementation of professional development plans A successful Child Care Consultant candidate will have: Effective interpersonal skills for working with child care providers, child care program administrators, co-workers and the general public Knowledge of high quality early child care and education practices Knowledge of typical and atypical early childhood development Office organizational skills with attention to detail and understanding of common computer applications Effective skills in conflict resolution and problem solving Effective skills to foster the professional development of others Commitment to collaborating in a team environment Self Motivating and able to manage work independently Benefits include: Paid leave time and paid holidays Health, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability Insurance Packages Iowa Public Employees Retirement System (IPERS) Flexible daytime schedule and the ability to telecommute Professional development opportunities Opportunity to make a difference in your community!Job Type:
