Job Location:
This position has a regional office located at 149 Park Central Square, Ste. 116, Springfield, MO 65806. Candidate must be able to travel within assigned region as identified on the Regional Map. The ideal candidate would reside in Greene, Polk, Dade, Cedar, Dallas, Webster, Lawrence or Christian. There is an option to work remotely after required training is complete. Why you'll love this position: In this position, you would be guiding regulated child care facilities with compliance and supporting interactions with children, families and the community. Responsibilities - What you'll do Inspect child care facilities to ensure laws and regulations are met. Interpret state laws and regulations. Perform inspections/investigations of child care facilities to ensure state and/or federal compliance is met. Explain state laws and regulations to child care providers and stakeholders. Provide technical assistance to child care providers, including informational meetings as needed. Provide consultation on problems related to child development, behavior, and health services. Prepare required reports as assigned. Attend and participate in meetings and workgroups as required. Ability to set and follow priorities, successfully adjust to rapidly changing situations, and concurrently manage multiple tasks. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Department staff, other state and local agencies, and the public. Understand child development. Ability to navigate a computer and learn data systems. Ability to manage a caseload with minimal supervision. Demonstrate regular, reliable, and engaged attendance. Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in elementary or early education, sociology, psychology, child development, social work, or a closely related field, or other related area. OR Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 6 earned credit hours in elementary or early education, sociology, psychology, child development, social work, or a closely related field, or other related area with two or more years of professional or technical experience in elementary or early childhood education, social services for children, or experience in the provision of child care in a licensed family or group child care home, or a licensed or license exempt child care center. OR Four or more years of professional or technical experience in child care licensing, elementary or early childhood education, social services for children, or experience in the provision of child care in a licensed family or group child care home, or a licensed or license exempt child care center and possession of a high school diploma or high school equivalency. Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
