Responsibilities
  • Reports to Lead Teacher.
  • Always supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children.
  • Assist Lead teacher with information to be submitted to Director for monthly newsletter.
  • Assist Lead Teacher with planning curriculum for the children in the classroom that is developmentally appropriate and helps children develop physically, cognitively,
  • Implement the daily program.
  • Assist with arranging for and attending field trips.
  • Decorate the room including bulletin boards.
  • Attend weekly classroom team meetings (for planning, gathering supplies, sanitizing toys, classroom cleaning, etc.)
  • Attend monthly staff meetings.
  • Attend 24 hours of in-service training per school year as agreed upon with Director.
  • Be familiar with state regulations as well as with Program Policies of Stepping Stones Academy.
  • Implement the daily program.
  • Ensure regular observation of children throughout the year (must avoid semiannual testing of children).
  • Decorate the room including bulletin boards.
  • Maintain daily child attendance log.
  • Gathering supplies, sanitizing toys & materials, etc.).
  • Attend monthly general staff meetings.
  • Attend monthly Team Leader meetings.
  • Meet with parents semi-annually to discuss child(ren)s growth and development using approved progress report forms.
Requirements:
  • 18 years of age per state regulations
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
