Job Description

Center Director We are seeking a strong, motivated, and growth-focused Center Director to lead one of our San Antonio childcare centers. This is not just an administrative position — we are looking for a leader who can build relationships with families, motivate staff, drive enrollment growth, and operate a high-quality childcare program with confidence and urgency. The ideal candidate understands that excellent childcare and strong enrollment go hand-in-hand. We need someone who can lead a team, create an outstanding parent experience, conduct effective tours, follow up on inquiries, and help grow the school. Position Overview The Center Director is responsible for the overall daily operation and success of the childcare center, including: Leadership and supervision of staff State licensing compliance Texas Rising Star standards Parent communication and retention Enrollment growth and family tours Staffing and scheduling Tuition collection and account management Maintaining a safe, professional, and welcoming environment Building a strong center culture aligned with the organization's mission and values This position plays a critical role in the future growth and success of the school. What Success Looks Like A successful Center Director will: Create a warm, professional, and organized school environment Build strong relationships with current and prospective families Convert tours into enrollments Maintain strong classroom quality and staff accountability Increase enrollment and classroom utilization Lead staff with confidence, urgency, and professionalism Ensure compliance with licensing and company standards Take ownership of the center's overall performance Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Lead the daily operations of the childcare center Supervise, coach, and support teachers and administrative staff Create staff schedules based on enrollment and ratios Maintain a positive, professional workplace culture Conduct staff meetings and ongoing coaching Ensure classrooms remain clean, organized, and licensing compliant Enrollment & Family Relations Respond promptly to parent inquiries Conduct engaging and professional center tours Build trust with prospective families Follow up consistently with leads and tours Work to increase enrollment and retention Maintain strong customer service and communication with families Compliance & Quality Ensure compliance with Texas Child Care Licensing regulations Maintain Texas Rising Star standards Ensure proper record keeping and documentation Monitor safety, supervision, and operational procedures Support curriculum implementation and kindergarten readiness goals Financial & Administrative Responsibilities Assist with tuition collection and account management Monitor attendance and enrollment trends Help maintain labor efficiency and staffing levels Support center profitability and operational goals Qualifications Required Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare center Minimum 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role Strong communication and organizational skills Professional appearance and demeanor Ability to lead a team and hold staff accountable Ability to multitask and work under pressure Experience interacting with parents and families Valid Driver's License Ability to pass all required background checks Preferred Experience as a Center Director or Assistant Director Experience with enrollment growth or sales/customer service Knowledge of Texas Rising Star Experience conducting parent tours Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Takes ownership Moves with urgency Understands leadership and accountability Is comfortable talking with parents and asking for enrollment Can balance compliance with relationship-building Wants to grow a school and make an impact This role is ideal for someone who thrives in leadership, enjoys working with people, and wants to help build something successful.
