Sunday Child Caregiver

Child Caregivers attend to children during Sunday morning church services. They are valuable staff members who serve throughout the year. We seek to hire patient, friendly, and polite Caregivers with successful experience in caring for children. Duties with nursery-age children may include feeding, changing diapers, escorting children to the bathroom, etc. Duties with older children may include leading an activity, playing a game with them, monitoring their interactions with each other, and explaining expected behaviors. Caregivers are responsible for maintaining a safe environment for the children in their care, and cheerfully interacting with them. A minimum of two Caregivers work together with children at Asbury. We are hiring Caregivers to work in our Nursery or a classroom on Sundays from 9:45 am to 12:15 pm. Opptional additional hours may also be available on Wednesday mornings and/or evenings, and occasional daytime events. We are seeking candidates for year-round employment.

Compensation:

$18.00/hour

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age with valid I.D. (passport or Social Security Card/Drivers License, etc.)
• Must supply references of previous childcare experience
• Must live within a reasonable distance of Harrisonburg, Virginia
• Applicants will need to pass a background check ordered by Asbury United Methodist Church prior to acceptance for employment.
• Must confirm watching Asbury's training video and agreement to comply with Asbury's childcare policies.
