35 hrs/week | Start Late August / Early September Warm, active Issaquah family seeking a reliable, engaging nanny for their 11-year-old son. Their son is on the autism spectrum but is highly capable and attends a mainstream classroom He an has an ADHD diagnosis, though he does not take medication. Socially and emotionally, some of his interests and communication style may align more closely with children a couple of years younger than his age. He is bright, thoughtful, and active, with interests including books, graphic novels, Pokémon, card games, hiking, outdoor activities, libraries, bookstores, dogs, and creative activities. The family is looking for someone who can provide consistency, structure, encouragement, and genuine engagement while helping support routines, homework, independence, and daily responsibilities/chores such as taking out the trash. This role is primarily focused on childcare, transportation, homework support, and building a positive relationship with the child. During school hours, there may also be opportunities to assist with light household support tasks. Schedule The family is flexible and open to two scheduling structures: Potential split shift schedule before and after school if the nanny lives close enough for that arrangement to work well logistically Primarily afternoon/evening schedule (example: 12 PM-6 PM or 1 PM-7 PM) Approx. 35 guaranteed hours/week. Responsibilities School drop-off and pick-up (depending on schedule) Driving to activities and lessons Homework support and routine guidance Encouraging independence and helping reinforce responsibilities and life skills Engaging in activities and outings aligned with the child's interests Light household support while child is at school, potentially including: Laundry Light tidying and organizing Vacuuming Occasional dog walking Possible grocery shopping, errands, or simple meal prep assistance Ideal Candidate Warm, dependable, and engaging Enjoys working with older children/tweens Comfortable providing structure, consistency, and routine Patient and encouraging while supporting independence and responsibility Open communicator who can work collaboratively with parents Comfortable with large, friendly dogs (German Shepherd and Mastiff) Comfortable working in a Christian household environment Experience with neurodivergent children, autism, and/or ADHD preferred but not required Requirements Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle Clean driving record Mileage reimbursement provided for work-related driving Professional references required
