Child Watch Attendant Wage:
$17.13 to $17.13 per hour ( Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with most new hires starting between the minimum and midpoint of the posted wage range )
Hours:
Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week
Location:
Lakewood Family YMCA, Lakewood, WA As a Child Watch Attendant, you will ensure a safe, caring, and fun learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years while parents are utilizing the YMCA facilities.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 15 years of age or older. Six months or more of related experience (preferred). Comfort and confidence working with children. Demonstrated positive attitude and professional demeanor. Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (preferred). Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act). Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment. Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Care for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years of age Monitor drop-off and pick-up of children Play actively with the children by adapting activities to the needs of each Communicate with parents regarding their children's behavior and safety Assist with maintaining cleanliness and order in the child watch area

Child Watch Attendant Job Description Position Summary The Child Watch Attendant ensures a safe, caring, and fun learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years while parents are utilizing the YMCA facilities. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Key Responsibilities Plan and organize age appropriate activities. Play actively with the children. Adapt activities to the needs of each. Monitor the health and socialization of children daily. Provide appropriate discipline of children, as necessary, according to YMCA policy and procedures. Assist with maintaining cleanliness and order in the child watch area. Monitor the drop-off and pick-up of children to guarantee their safety while in our care. Greet parents and help children feel welcome. Communicate regarding their child's behavior. Assist with daily operations of the child watch. Responsible for child supervision, fun and safety. Provide safety briefings to parents and participants.
