The Family:
This loving, professional family is looking for a reliable, proactive nanny to partner with! Dad works from home most days in an office separate from the main living spaces. Mom is a hospitalist whose schedule changes due to the nature of her work, but she knows it months in advance. For this reason, they are seeking a nanny who has flexibility with their schedule. Here is a sample schedule which is pretty typical for any given month: Week 1: 8a-4p; 1/2 9a-2p; 1/4 10a-2p; 1/7 8a-2p (23 hrs) Week 2: 8a-4p; 1/9 8a-2p; 1/14 10a-4p (20 hrs) Week 3: 8a-2p; 1/17, 18, 19 7:30a-5:30p (36 hours) Week 4: 10a-4p; 1/23 8a-2p; 1/27 7:30-5:30p; 1/28 10a-4p (28 hrs) Week 5: 8a-2p; 1/30, 31 7:30a-5:30p; 2/3 8a-2p (32 hours) Average hours per week: 27.8 Mom typically works nine 12 hour shifts per month broken up into 3-4 day chunks that often span the weekends. On the days mom works and for the day after, they would need 10 hrs/day assistance ideally. On the off weeks during the weekends they would need 6 - 10 hours of day caregiver help on Saturday and Sunday, and 8-10 hours during day on Monday. Additionally mom will likely need a couple days a week (at least 1/2 day) in order to address errands and self care on the weeks she doesn't work. The family has no pets; there is a sensitivity to strong scents in the home that the nanny would need to be aware of.
The Job Description:
The nanny will be responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, and loving environment for the children.
Typical job duties will include:
General care including potty help, snack and meal prep, and maintaining nap schedules Facilitating engaging age appropriate developmental activities and play both indoors (sensory, art, and creative play activities), and outdoors (walks to playground, story time at the library, etc) Children's laundry Providing safe transportation for activities and outings at a future date as the girls get more involved in activities outside of the home Tidying of spaces used throughout the day including dishes used, kitchen counters, and play areas.
Nanny Attributes/Qualifications/Requirements:
The family is seeking a cheerful, nurturing, and engaging nanny who has 3+ years of relevant toddler care experience (group care or preschool setting, twin, or nanny share experience ideally). Their ideal nanny is reliable and proactive with planning enriching outings and activities, has child development knowledge or an early childhood education background, and excellent communication skills. The family would like to partner with a nanny who genuinely enjoys working with children, and who values being present and engaging with children. Experience with speech delay (the twins were preemies), or someone who is bilingual (their prior nanny was bilingual), would be a bonus! The nanny should be up to date with all vaccinations, including DTaP, annual influenza, and the Covid vaccine + booster ideally. They should have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ideally a safe and reliable vehicle for use on the job (this is negotiable).
