JOB SUMMARY
The Child Care Tech cares for young children in a day care setting. Leads and monitors various play and learning activities including games, crafts, story time, and music. Performs daily tasks required to keep children happy, clean, safe, and occupied. Supervises snacks, meals, and naps. Completes any required documentation including attendance logs, sign in sheets, or medication administration records. Maintains a safe and secure play area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Implements a daily program for the children based on the stages of child development. Plans activities and situations that promote problem solving and creative thinking for children. Keep appropriate records on each child to include time and amounts of feedings, diaper changes, hours napped, general attitude and activities. Maintains the standards of childcare as established by the Department of Family Services and the State of Wyoming and CCH policies and procedures. Responsible for the welfare, health and safety of the children in childcare. Contributes to hospital functioning by participation in department meetings and activities and offers recommendations for improvement. Attends and participates in continuing education offerings for childcare as required by the department and assists with orientation of new personnel. Shows affections and enjoyment in interactions with children. Develops and maintains professional rapport with department customers and co-workers. Maintains a clean and safe environment. Participates in housekeeping chores of the department. Alerts manager/coordinator's when supplies are needed. Actively participates in identifying, documenting, monitoring, evaluating, and taking corrective action for quality improvement. Actively prepares for and participates in all regulatory inspections/surveys. Maintains confidentiality of the children and family information. Complies with the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures. Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices. Other duties as assigned. This list is non-exhaustive. Qualifications Education Early Childhood classes or experience working with children required. Experience Previous experience preferred Must be at least 16 years of age
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ability to maintain continuing education requirements and all certifications and licenses as required Must relate well with children, families, hospital staff, physicians and public. Attention to detail; able to read staff and children's schedules. Requires ability to problem solve; teach and explain so children will understand. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions and under stressful conditions. Ability to verbally communicate on children's level. Computer Knowledge including the ability to enter material into electronic record. Ability to operate fax, computer, and copy machine to perform the duties of the position. Legible handwriting. American Heart Association's Mission:
Lifeline® EMS Bronze Level Recognition Award for implementing improved measures for treating patients who experience severe heart attacks. Every year, more than 250,000 people experience a ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), a type of heart attack caused by a complete blockage of blood flow to the heart that requires timely treatment. The EMS recognition program recognizes emergency responders for their efforts in improving STEMI systems of care and improving the quality of life for these patients.
