Job Description

Job Description
HERE ORBIT CHURCH NOW HIRING
    BUCKEYE, AZ
Pastor/Director of Worship & Production We re looking for a trusted leader to build a worship and production ministry that is spiritually healthy, technically reliable, volunteer-led, and repeatable every Sunday. You don t have to be the best musician in the room. You must be an exceptional spiritual and organizational leader who builds people and systems.
    THE ONE THING TO UNDERSTAND
This is not an audition for the most talented musician. We need a leader of leaders: someone who can take a vision, build healthy high-capacity volunteer teams, and make excellence repeatable every single Sunday. On the stage is optional. Spirit-led, trustworthy, and organized is not.
    WHAT YOU LL LEAD
The Vision. Take the Lead Pastor s vision for worship and make it a repeatably excellent. The People.
    Lead and shepherd every team:
vocalists, instrumentalists, audio, visuals, lighting, and livestream. The Production. Own the full technical environment, from, Dante and FOH audio to LED visuals, lighting, and broadcast, leading teams rather than being an operator on the teams. The Systems. Build rehearsal rhythms, scheduling, standards, and a leadership pipeline that multiplies. The Team s Soul. Pastor the volunteers and cultivate worshipers, not performers. 1. Carry & Implement the Vision
OWN THE WHY, THEN THE HOW
Take the Lead Pastor s vision for worship and translate it into a clear, repeatable Sunday, every week, both services. Plan worship sets and service flow ahead of time (seasons, series, special Sundays) so nothing other than Spirit-led flows are last minute.
    Protect the standard:
excellent, distraction-free, and pointed at Jesus, not performance for its own sake. 2. Lead the People
    VOCALISTS
    • BAND
    • AUDIO
    • VISUAL
    LIGHTING
      LIVESTREAM
Provide spiritual and organizational leadership to every worship and production team, not just the stage. Shepherd your volunteers as people first: care, prayer, and presence, not just slots filled on a schedule. Cultivate worshipers, not performers, and keep the team s heart pointed at Jesus. Carry the culture of the staff team and model Orbit s values for everyone who serves under you. Recruit, schedule, train, and develop high-capacity volunteers, and raise up team leads (Music Director, audio lead, etc.) so the ministry isn t dependent on any one person. Build a leadership pipeline that multiplies. Your real scorecard is healthy leaders raised up. 3. Own the Production Environment Audio FOH and monitors, IEMs, and tracks, including Ableton playback or click and Dante audio networking. Visual LED screens, lyrics and service programming, and the on-screen content that supports worship and teaching. Lighting Stage and house lighting design and operation that sets the room without becoming a show. Livestream Multi-cam broadcast, online mix, and the experience of those worshiping with us from home. You lead it; you don t have to run it. The goal is a leader who understands the stack well enough to set standards, troubleshoot, and develop the volunteers who operate it, or who can learn it fast. Deep expertise in any one area is a bonus, not the requirement.
      WHO YOU ARE A
growing follower of Jesus whose character matches the leadership Scripture describes (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1): above reproach, self-controlled, and trustworthy. In full alignment with Orbit s values and beliefs (orbitchurch.org/values-and-beliefs). An organizational leader. You build systems, plan ahead, follow through, and stay calm when something breaks 10 minutes before a service. A volunteer multiplier. You recruit, develop, hold a standard and raise up other leaders. Tech-fluent enough to lead the production stack (Ableton, Dante, LED, lighting, livestream), or hungry and capable enough to learn it quickly. You do not need to be a master engineer or musician. Low-ego and high-trust. Happy to lead from the booth or the floor and let others shine on the stage. Helpful, not required: production or AV background, prior worship or tech-team leadership, and hands-on familiarity with any part of the stack. We re hiring the leader first and building competency around them.
