Associate Pastor Bible City Church Burbank, CA Job Details Part-time 3 hours ago Qualifications Christian counseling Volunteer management Leadership development Mentoring Teaching Full Job Description Associate Pastor - Position Description The Associate Pastor serves directly under the Lead Pastor and plays a key leadership role in advancing the vision, mission, and spiritual health of the church. This position provides pastoral leadership, ministry oversight, and support to church staff, ministry leaders, volunteers, and the congregation while helping ensure the effective operation and growth of all ministry areas. The Associate Pastor partners closely with the Lead Pastor to implement church initiatives, develop and oversee ministries, strengthen volunteer and leadership teams, and identify opportunities to further the church's mission and outreach. This role is expected to help cultivate a culture of discipleship, spiritual growth, servant leadership, and Gospel-centered ministry throughout the church. The Associate Pastor will provide pastoral care, spiritual guidance, encouragement, and support to members of the congregation and ministry teams. This position is also responsible for assisting with preaching, teaching, leadership development, and ministry planning. When the Lead Pastor is unavailable, the Associate Pastor should be prepared to step into leadership responsibilities as needed, including preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and ministry oversight to ensure continuity of leadership and support. This individual should demonstrate a heart for ministry, a commitment to advancing the Gospel, and a willingness to grow alongside the church as it continues to develop and expand. The Associate Pastor will actively support the vision of the church, equip others for ministry, and help raise up future leaders who can effectively serve and disciple others. Primary Responsibilities Serve as a direct ministry partner and support to the Lead Pastor. Provide leadership and oversight to assigned staff members, ministry leaders, and volunteers. Assist in the development, implementation, and oversight of church ministries and ministry initiatives. Preach, teach, and communicate biblical truth as requested. Be prepared to assume pastoral responsibilities when the Lead Pastor is unavailable. Provide pastoral care, spiritual counseling, visitation, prayer, and support to church members and attendees. Develop, mentor, and equip ministry leaders and volunteers for effective service. Help identify opportunities for church growth, outreach, discipleship, and community impact. Support the execution of the church's vision, mission, and strategic goals. Foster unity, spiritual maturity, and healthy ministry culture throughout the church. Assist with special events, services, leadership development, and other ministry needs as assigned. Serve as a visible and accessible pastoral presence within the life of the church. The Associate Pastor is expected to exemplify Christ-like character, servant leadership, spiritual maturity, and a commitment to advancing the mission of the church through faithful ministry and leadership. All leader are required to attend all church functions
