Biblecitychurch.org The First Impressions Pastor serves as a member of the pastoral team and is responsible for creating and maintaining a welcoming, engaging, and Christ-centered environment for every guest, attendee, and member who interacts with the church. This position oversees all aspects of the First Impressions Ministry and is tasked with ensuring that every person who walks through the doors feels seen, valued, loved, and connected. The First Impressions Pastor will recruit, train, develop, and lead volunteer teams responsible for greeting, hospitality, guest services, and guest follow-up. This role is responsible for creating a culture of hospitality that reflects the heart of Christ and helps guests take meaningful next steps in their faith journey and connection to the church. This pastor will oversee all guest engagement processes, including connect card collection, guest follow-up, and assimilation efforts. The First Impressions Pastor will work closely with the pastoral team and ministry leaders to ensure guests are effectively connected to the life of the church through ministries, small groups, serving opportunities, and discipleship pathways. The First Impressions Pastor will actively engage with guests and attendees both inside and outside of church gatherings, helping invite people into the church community and building relationships that support church growth and outreach. As a member of the pastoral team, this position will also provide pastoral care, spiritual encouragement, leadership support, and occasional preaching and teaching opportunities as assigned. Primary Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight for all First Impressions and Guest Services ministries. Recruit, train, schedule, develop, and shepherd First Impressions volunteers. Create and maintain a welcoming, organized, and guest-friendly environment for all church gatherings and events. Ensure every guest is warmly welcomed and intentionally engaged from arrival through departure. Oversee the collection and management of physical and digital connect cards. Develop and implement guest follow-up processes to help individuals take their next step in connecting with the church. Work with the pastoral team to integrate new guests into church life, ministries, discipleship opportunities, and serving teams. Build a culture of hospitality, excellence, and servant leadership throughout the church. Assist with outreach efforts, community engagement, invitations, and relationship-building opportunities. Identify and remove barriers that may prevent guests from feeling welcomed, connected, or valued. Monitor and improve the overall guest experience at all church services, events, and ministry gatherings. Collaborate with ministry leaders to ensure a consistent and unified guest experience across all ministries. Provide pastoral care, encouragement, prayer, and spiritual support to guests, volunteers, and church members as needed. Participate in pastoral team meetings, leadership development, ministry planning, and church-wide initiatives. Preach and teach as requested and be prepared to assist with pastoral responsibilities when needed. Support and advance the vision, mission, and values of the church through servant-hearted leadership and intentional relationship building. The First Impressions Pastor is responsible for helping ensure that every person who encounters the church experiences the love of Christ, feels genuinely welcomed into the church family, and is encouraged to take meaningful steps toward spiritual growth and community.
