This role focuses on fueling a Spirit-led movement where Jesus changes people who change the world. The Lead Pastor is responsible for providing biblical preaching, pastoral care, and leadership development to equip staff and the congregation in their walk with God. About Citrus Heights Friends Church Citrus Heights Friends Church (CHFC) is a vibrant, diverse community of believers nestled in a neighborhood in the heart of Citrus Heights. We are currently honoring the nearly 30-year legacy of our previous Lead Pastor, who was recently called home to be with the Lord. His faithful stewardship left CHFC with a strong leadership team, a dedicated volunteer force, and an exceptionally welcoming atmosphere. Our community stays connected through established Life Groups and active youth and children s ministries, using "The Rooted Experience" to disciple new members. Currently, our mission is supported by a part-time interim pastor, a part-time worship leader, an established elder board, a property and finance committee, and a large volunteer force. Key Responsibilities 1. Preaching and Teaching Prepare and deliver biblically sound, Spirit-led sermons for Sunday worship service. Lead or support weekly Bible studies to help members grow in their faith. Oversee the doctrinal integrity of all church teaching ministries in alignment with Friends Southwest (FSW). Administer ordinances such as baptism, communion, and child dedications. 2. Spiritual Leadership and Vision Cast and implement a vision that embodies our mission to be "Life Changing, Community Impacting, and God Glorifying". Work collaboratively with the Elders on vision, strategic planning, and administrative duties. Model Christlike character and servant leadership while leading the church in prayer, mission, and evangelism. Continue the church's 100-year legacy of sending missionaries and impacting the global community for the Gospel. 3. Provide spiritual guidance and pastoral care to individuals and families. Design and implement a follow-up process for new visitors and inactive members to foster a welcoming and inclusive community. 4. Leadership and Administration Oversee and mentor future church staff. Develop and empower volunteer leaders to serve in all areas of church ministry according to their gifts. Including Life Groups, Youth, Children s and other ministries. Participate in budgeting, stewardship planning, and ensuring church policies align with biblical principles. 5. Community Engagement Build strong relationships within the broader Citrus Heights community to reach those who do not yet know Christ. Lead the church in reaching our community through thoughtful evangelism strategies that equip members to invite others into our church family.
