Cornerstone Christian Academy Minister Position Description Employment Type:
Full-time, Salary Position Summary:
The Cornerstone Christian Academy (CCA) Minister is an administratively gifted servant-leader who oversees all aspects of Cornerstone Christian Academy (Pre-K - Grade 12). The Minister leads CCA staff as they partner with parents to provide a Christ-centered, biblically based and educationally robust homeschool experience. As a key member of the Cornerstone Church Ministry Team, the CCA Minister leverages the strategic Kingdom value of CCA in pursuing the church s mission to LEAD (Love God, Equip Believers, Answer God s Call and Declare the Good News).
Personal Requirements:
  • Professing, growing, and committed Christian pursuing Biblical leadership standards in personal and family life. 1 Timothy 3:1-13; 2 Timothy 2:1-13; Titus 1:5-9.
  • Evangelical orientation in theology and evangelical spirit in full agreement with the doctrinal positions and position papers of Cornerstone Church.
  • A member in good standing of Cornerstone Church.
  • At least five years experience working in a Christ-centered educational setting, who has a heart for and skill in homeschool education and ministry to children.
  • Committed to contributing to an environment of cooperative teamwork in alignment with Cornerstone s mission, values and Staff Covenant.
  • Senses a calling from the Lord to serve at Cornerstone Christian Academy.
Professional Requirements:
  • An excellent communicator, both in oral and written disciplines, who displays a joyful spirit, well developed leadership skills.
  • Bachelor of Arts Degree from a Bible College or University preferred.
  • Employs discernment and protects necessary confidentiality in the work environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strategic planning skills.
  • A working knowledge and competency in Microsoft Office platforms.
Relationships:
  • Directly accountable to the Executive Pastor.
  • A member of the CCLB Ministry Staff Team.
  • A voting member of the CCA Supervisory Team.
  • Provides Direct oversight of the CCA Assistant Director and Cornerstone Christian Academy teachers/aides.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management
  • Exercises operational leadership over the CCA program, inspiring trust and confidence among staff, parents and CCA stakeholders.
  • Oversees the interviewing, onboarding and management of Cornerstone Christian Academy staff. Maintains a substitute teacher roster and approves leave requests within the CCLB time management system. Final hiring authority rests with the Lead Pastor.
  • Oversees the selection of curriculum that reflects CCA s mission and accords with CCLB doctrine. Prioritizes charter-friendly curricula when appropriate to minimize financial impact on CCA families.
  • Maintains a cooperative and mission-forward relationship between Cornerstone Christian Academy and Cornerstone Church.
  • Collaborates with the broader CCLB leadership team to provide a safe and secure environment for CCA children and teachers. Proactively develops and maintains appropriate security protocols and policies.
  • Intentionally integrates CCA s ministry into the community life of CCLB, with a special focus on partnering with Children s, Youth and Community Life ministries.
  • Knows, upholds and educates stakeholders on CCA governance and policy. As the ministry grows, works through the CCA Supervisory Team to develop and implement additional policies to promote consistency and transparency.
  • Assists in the creation and management of the CCA budget. Manages expenses in accordance with that budget. Serves as the Person with Line Item Responsibility (PLIR) for CCA expenses.
  • Takes a leadership role in addressing and resolving issues with parents, students and/or teachers that negatively impact the mission, vision and values of CCA.
  • Leads strategic planning efforts to expand the impact of CCA s ministry from the Pre-K to 12th Grade levels.
  • Improves the quality of the experience for CCA families and staff through annual reviews and staff evaluations.
  • Exercises responsibility for CCA resources, both physical and digital. Communication and Marketing
  • Represents Cornerstone Christian Academy to CCA, CCLB and external communities. Advocates for the ministry at CCLB worship services, church events, and staff meetings.
  • Oversees all CCA communications to staff and to the broader CCA community, including emails, publications, phone calls, and social media postings.
  • Provides monthly ministry updates to the Executive Pastor and Ministry Oversight Elder.
  • Creates and publishes an annual CCA calendar, coordinating calendar dates and facility usage with the CCLB Church Administrator.
  • Develops marketing materials to promote CCA programs and upcoming events, leveraging various forms of media ranging from brochures to social media and the church website.
