Teach with Depth. Form Conscience and Courage. Pacific Bay Christian School is seeking a full-time School Chaplain who will also serve as a member of our teaching faculty. As an intentionally small and relational school, this role integrates pastoral leadership, classroom instruction, and the formation of young people who will lead lives of faith, reflection, and justice. We are looking for a theologically grounded, pastorally wise educator who believes spiritual formation and intellectual life belong together — and that Christian faith calls us not only to belief, but to thoughtful engagement with the world. The Role As Chaplain, you will:
  • Lead weekly chapel gatherings that are biblically grounded, intellectually serious, graciously inclusive, and relevant to students' lives
  • Provide pastoral care rooted in cura personalis — care for the whole person
  • Create spaces for prayer, reflection, discernment, and spiritual growth
  • Guide students in connecting faith with service, justice, and community responsibility
  • Partner with school leadership to cultivate a culture marked by compassion, moral courage, and reconciliation
  • Support service-learning and initiatives that embody a faith that seeks justice
  • Train the high school chapel band As Staff Member, additional duties may include:
  • Teaching courses in Christian Studies, Bible, Ethics, or related Humanities disciplines
  • Foster critical thinking, thoughtful writing, and charitable dialogue
  • Help students wrestle with enduring questions of truth, suffering, power, responsibility, and hope
  • Integrate faith, reason, and justice in age-appropriate and intellectually serious ways This role requires someone equally comfortable preaching a chapel message, facilitating a seminar discussion, mentoring a questioning student, and guiding conversations about faith and public life with nuance and grace.
