Chaplain - Green Scripps Health - 3.9 La Jolla, CA Job Details Full-time $38.54 - $55.88 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Career development plan Qualifications Direct patient care Cultural competency Psychology Religious leadership Psychology Spiritual well-being Full Job Description Located on the Torrey Pines Mesa near I-5 and Genesee Avenue in La Jolla, Scripps Green Hospital has served the greater San Diego community since 1977. We provide some of the region's best care, including several nationally ranked specialty programs. Scripps Green Hospital is attached to Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines. Together we offer dozens of medical and surgical services, including cancer care, orthopedic surgery and organ transplantation. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position located at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla and on call would be at Green, La Jolla and Encinitas (north region hospitals only). The shift will be for 8 hour days but somewhat flexible (7:30am to 4:00pm, 8:00am to 4:30pm, 8:30am to 5:00pm). The chaplains rotate "On call" coverage for emergencies. They are on call one week during the nighttime (Monday-Thursday) and one weekend (Friday-Sunday) of "on call" a month. Why join Scripps Health? Colleagueship with other healthcare professionals and members of the community clergy is essential in providing a continuum of spiritual care in a multi-cultural environment of diverse traditions.
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
Masters Degree in Theology/behavioral sciences, or M. Div. or equivalency. Minimum of 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education or must be an ordained Catholic priest. Training in psychology, spirituality, and clinical pastoral education. Professional knowledge of theological and bioethical issues. One to two years experience in pastoral ministry in a healthcare facility. Knowledge of Christian and other belief systems. Good verbal and written communications skills. Training in core patient care responsibilities for patient focused units.
Required Certification/Registration:
NACC/APC
certification, or ordained Catholic priest. Endorsement of ecclesiastical authority, faith community or religious community. Position Pay Range:
$38.54-$55.88/hour
