Job Description

Part-Time Worship Leader Compensation:
$250 weekly
Schedule:
Part-Time (There is flexibility for shared leadership or not leading every week if desired.) About City Life Church City Life Church is a diverse family of God, united by Jesus, led by Scripture, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to care for the spiritual and tangible needs of the lost and hurting in the underserved community of Mt. Hope and beyond. We are looking for a worship leader who loves Jesus, values the local church, and wants to help people engage with God through worship in an authentic and gospel-centered way. Position Summary The Worship Leader will work alongside the Lead Pastor to help create meaningful, Christ-centered worship gatherings for City Life Church. This role includes planning worship sets, developing volunteers and musicians, leading rehearsals, and helping cultivate a healthy worship culture within the church. This person should be spiritually mature, musically competent, humble, teachable, and able to lead both on and off the platform. Weekly ResponsibilitiesWorship Planning Collaborate with the Lead Pastor during the week to plan songs, scripture readings, transitions, and worship flow for Sunday services. Schedule and communicate with worship team volunteers. Create and organize chord charts, lyric arrangements, and rehearsal materials. Introduce 1-2 new songs per month as appropriate for the church body. Help build a worship culture that is engaging, congregational, gospel-centered, and accessible. Rehearsals Lead worship rehearsals most Wednesday evenings from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM . Prepare musicians and vocalists to lead with excellence and confidence. Develop volunteers by training and mentoring musicians, singers, and future worship leaders. Sunday Responsibilities Arrive by 7:45 AM on Sundays for prayer, setup, sound check, and final preparation. Lead worship during both Sunday services: 9:00 AM Service 10:45 AM Service Lead approximately 5 songs during each service . Lead worship vocally while playing guitar or keyboard. Run a brief rehearsal/sound check with the scheduled team before services begin. Help facilitate smooth service transitions and maintain a worshipful atmosphere. Assist with teardown after services until completed. Spiritual Qualifications A committed follower of Jesus and believer in the authority of Scripture. Willing to affirm and support the church s core doctrinal beliefs as stated on our website. Willing to support church leadership even when disagreements arise. Has a heart for discipleship, multiplication, and raising up other leaders. Teachable, humble, and team-oriented. A peacemaker who works well with others. Servant-hearted and dependable. Not a diva. Skill Qualifications Experience leading worship in Gospel, Contemporary Worship, and/or Spanish worship settings. Strong vocal ability. Ability to confidently lead a rehearsal and direct a worship team. Ability to play guitar or keyboard proficiently. Experience leading bands and preparing chord charts/arrangements. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to recruit, train, and care for volunteers and musicians. Comfortable praying and speaking in front of groups. Able to oversee and coordinate multiple volunteers. Proactive and solution-oriented. Basic understanding of live sound and stage setup. Additional Skills We d Love Experience using Planning Center Online. Experience using ProPresenter. Familiarity with Ableton, Pro Tools, or Reason. Experience using click tracks and in-ear monitoring. Sound engineering experience. Songwriting or music production skills. A desire to be fully involved in the life of the church.
