Job Description

Priest-in-Charge (PT)
SCOTTS VALLEY, CA
Posted May 20, 2026 Job Title Priest-in-Charge (PT) Name of church or organization St. Philip the Apostle Episcopal Church Job Location
SCOTTS VALLEY, CA
Job Description St. Philip's seeks a part-time Priest-in-Charge to walk with us into the next chapter of our shared life. With nearly forty years of faithful ministry behind us, we remain committed to deepening our worship, strengthening our community connections, and serving our neighbors with compassion and humility. We seek a priest who values authentic relationships, collaborative leadership, and an inclusive vision of church; someone who will honor our history while helping us discern how God is calling us forward. Rooted in welcome, service, and shared life in Christ, St. Philip's is eager to grow—not necessarily in numbers alone, but in faithfulness, depth, and love. Scotts Valley is a town of 14,000 in the Redwood forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Known as a place where neighbors know one another and teenagers move about independently, we are a few miles from the college town of Santa Cruz and the beautiful coastline and beaches of Monterey Bay, and about a 35-minute commute from Silicon Valley. St. Philip's is a busy community hub for the town throughout the week including our food pantry, a rotating homeless shelter, recovery groups, scouts and more. St. Philip's ministries are largely lay-led with a dedicated core of volunteers. The parish values collaboration, creativity and shared leadership, with an openness to developing new ministries in response to the gifts of our next priest and the needs of the community. We invite you to imagine your ministry among us. Type of Commitment Part Time Does this job pay? Yes
