Position Title:

Part Time Pastor, Cornerstone Bible Church Reports to: Cornerstone Elders. Roles of Elders are based on; 1 Timothy 3:1-7. Titus 1:5-9. 1 Peter 5: 1-4.

Who we are:

A small, non-denominational, Bible Believing group of Christians who meet every Sunday from 10:00-11:30 at our rented space in town. We have a desire to grow spiritually and reach out to our community with the love and truth of Jesus Christ.

Purpose:

To provide a balanced ministry of preaching, pastoral care and organizational leadership to a congregation of about 20 members. The lead pastor, working with the elder team and under the headship of Christ, will help provide the core leadership, guidance, and spiritual direction for the church. He will help form the vision and be actively invested in the growth and development of the church body. Requirements (Based on the biblical requirements from 1 Timothy 3:1-7) : A male candidate who is committed to following Jesus, having a mature relationship with Christ (1 Timothy 3:6), and having skills in leadership, pastoral experience, and/or seminary to help equip the church for growth and discipleship. The Pastor will be a member of the Elder Board, and reports to the Elders. The Pastor will abide by the Constitution of the Church, and will not act in a way which violates or goes against the Church's beliefs as outlined in our Statement of Faith. The Pastor will meet the same requirements of Elders We believe God has given very specific and vital instruction for the qualifications, expectations, and appointment of Elders and Pastor(s) for the Church. Under the leadership of God and through the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, Elders provide the core of the leadership, vision, direction and shepherding of the Church. As such, we do not take lightly who is called to this position, and we seek to obey God's instructions explicitly as given in the Bible. The Pastor, along with the elders, shall be men who: Guard, nurture, and protect the spiritual welfare of the church Participate in services and ordinances of the church Care for the sick and needy Encourage godly living by word and example Oversee and help guide and direct the ministries and programs of the Church. Hold firm to the truth to be able to teach and shepherd the congregation Shepherd the Church, providing guidance, encouragement, and accountability to Church members Seek to advance the kingdom for the glory of

A building cannot stand without a firm foundation and your relationship with the church and community will not be able to last or be fruitful without a strong foundation and relationship with God. As a church, we ask that you love God above all - be constantly seeking full devotion to him. To maintain core biblical family values. To love and connect with people, with a desire to reach out to all kinds of people, especially the down-and-out, broken, who tend to not have a place. Display Christian love. Because the connection between pastor and people is a sacred trust, open, caring, healthy relationships are essential for the wellbeing of the local church. Cornerstone Bible Church is based in biblical teachings. We ask that you spend time studying, being transformed and renewed by the word of God in order to teach and lead the church in spiritual transformation and also to avoid false teaching and conforming to worldly values. The pastor should believe in spiritual guidelines for prayer, fasting, tithing, and healing, and that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not done away with.

Responsibilities:

The Part Time Pastor is to help form and cast a vision for Sunday services, including prayer, sermon, worship and communion, and collaborate with the Elder team and worship team. In addition, the Pastor will also preach at regular Sunday services and take part in the shepherding of the church. The Part Time Pastor will help in leadership and ministry development by equipping the saints to serve in their gifts, and delegate aspects of leadership so that people are reached and needs are met. The Part Time Pastor is to help Cornerstone engage with the community to be ambassadors of God's love, being faithful representatives of the church in the wider community.

Salary:

Base salary begins with $300 weekly salary. As the church grows, salary will also grow.

Evaluation:

The Part Time pastor position will start on a 90 days probationary period, as outlined in our Bylaws. If affirmed by the elders at the end of this period, the candidate will be brought before the Church for a final vote to determine whether to bring on the pastor as a permanent position. (Process according to our Bylaws)
