Job Description
The Next Gen Pastor is responsible for establishing a long-term vision and developing a strategic plan for how the church engages the next generation including the children, student and college ministries. The primary function of this position at first will be to develop, implement and manage a thriving children's ministry from birth through 5th grade while providing oversight for middle school, high school and college ministries. Responsibilities/Duties Serve as Team Leader for the Next Gen Ministry Team, developing, supporting, and managing a team of staff and volunteers to foster meaningful relationships with children, high school students, and college students while ensuring effective ministry operations. Enlist, train, motivate, and equip volunteers with resources and training to serve in the children's, student and college ministries. Screen all next generation ministry volunteers and leaders by conducting background checks before placement in ministry. Evaluate all next generation ministry programs, curriculum, and activities to select biblically sound materials that align with College Road doctrine. Plan, prepare, and facilitate all Sunday and Wednesday activities in collaboration with other church leaders and staff. Plan at least one event each quarter to promote outreach and build excitement within the ministries. Prepare, submit, and administer the annual budget for the Next Generation Ministry. Periodically review church policies and bring recommendations to the Church Council for changes or improvements that enhance the overall strategy for future next generation ministry in support of the church's vision. Help the church connect with local schools and other community groups. Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor or Executive Pastor. Qualifications Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ with a clear testimony of faith, alignment with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000), and support for the mission and vision of College Road Baptist Church. Possess a bachelor's degree in Christian Education, Ministry, or a related field. Have at least 2 years of experience working with children, students or college in a church environment (preferably children). Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle stress, work in a team, and motivate groups of volunteers. Must be proficient in computer skills, curriculum development, volunteer management, and child safety best practices. Must exhibit excellent moral character as a representative of the church community. Must pass a background check and follow the church's children's ministry policies.
Desirable:
