Campus Minister & Senior Theology Teacher

Principal Position Summary Cristo Rey Tampa Salesian High School seeks a faith-filled, mission-driven Campus Minister to support students' spiritual formation while advancing the school's Catholic and Salesian identity. This position serves as a visible presence on campus, accompanying students in their faith journey through prayer, service, retreats, liturgies, and faith formation while fostering a culture rooted in the Gospel and the educational vision of St. John Bosco. In addition to campus ministry responsibilities, the Campus Minister teaches two sections of Senior Theology and collaborates with faculty, staff, clergy, and school leadership to cultivate a vibrant Catholic community that supports the holistic development of every student. Essential Responsibilities Campus Ministry Promote and model the Catholic and Salesian mission of Cristo Rey Tampa. Foster the spiritual growth and faith formation of students through daily presence, mentoring, and relationship building. Plan, organize, and facilitate all grade-level retreats. Coordinate morning convocation, school liturgies, prayer services, sacramental celebrations, and other spiritual opportunities throughout the year. Collaborate with priests, clergy, and guest speakers to support the religious life of the school. Oversee the student service program, including communicating expectations, monitoring participation, and maintaining accurate service hour records using the school's online platform. Encourage student participation in service, prayer, retreats, and campus ministry initiatives. Support students during times of personal need by offering pastoral care and referring students to appropriate resources when necessary. Assist in integrating Catholic social teaching and Salesian spirituality throughout the school community. Coordinate and support faith-based student organizations and leadership opportunities. Collaborate with administration on activities that strengthen the school's Catholic identity. Instruction Teach two sections of Senior Theology. Prepare engaging lessons aligned with diocesan and school curriculum expectations. Assess student learning and maintain accurate grades in accordance with school policies. Foster respectful classroom environments that encourage critical thinking, faith development, and meaningful discussion. Communicate regularly with students and families regarding academic progress. School Community Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events. Assist with student supervision before, during, and after school as assigned. Provide substitute classroom coverage or test administration as needed. Support admissions, orientation, parent events, and other school functions. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal consistent with the mission and operation of the school. Qualifications Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church. Commitment to Catholic education and the Salesian charism. Bachelor's degree required; degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field preferred. Experience working with adolescents in educational, parish, or ministry settings preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, clergy, students, and families. Commitment to serving a diverse student population and supporting first-generation college-bound students. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of Catholic theology and Church teachings. Ability to lead prayer, retreats, and faith formation experiences. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously. Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, flexibility, and sound judgment. Builds positive relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Supports and advances the mission of Cristo Rey Tampa Salesian High School. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to move throughout the campus, supervise students indoors and outdoors, occasionally lift materials up to 25 pounds, and participate in retreats, liturgies, service projects, and other school events that may occur outside regular school hours.
