Free Church Chaplain - HMP BronzefieldWe are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Free Church Chaplain to join the Chaplaincy team at HMP Bronzefield. In this role, you will provide pastoral care and faith-specific support to prisoners and staff within a multi-faith environment. You will play a key role in supporting rehabilitation, promoting spiritual wellbeing, and contributing to a respectful and inclusive prison community.

Main ResponsibilitiesProvide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to prisoners, staff, and their families, regardless of faith backgroundPlan, lead, and facilitate Free Church worship, prayer services, and faith-based programmesWork collaboratively within a multi-faith Chaplaincy team to deliver inclusive servicesSupport prisoners in crisis situations and contribute to their rehabilitation and personal developmentBuild relationships with Free Church groups and local community faith networks to support resettlementMaintain accurate records, contribute to reports, and support service delivery standards and chaplaincy initiativesPlease see the attached job description for further details regarding the role requirements.

The Ideal CandidateOrdained or authorised Free Church Chaplain with formal endorsement from the Prison Service Free Church AdviserStrong understanding of the Christian faith, with the ability to lead worship and engage diverse groupsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and non-judgemental approachAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentExperience (or strong interest) in working with vulnerable individuals or complex needs communitiesWell-organised with strong administrative, IT, and problem-solving skillsSuccessful candidates will be required to undergo MOJ Level 2 and Enhanced DBS checks, plus Counter Terrorism Clearance (CTC).
