Job Description

Looking for a great opportunity to be a Chaplain Intern where you can really make a difference?! The Westminster Place Team is seeking a dynamic Chaplain Intern to lead worship services, including preaching, and engage in pastoral visitation, among other assigned duties.
Essential Functions:
  • Plan, lead, preach, and participate in worship services as assigned, including Sunday Vespers, Wednesday Hymns & Devotions, and Thursday services on Healthcare floors.
  • Conduct special liturgical services or other seasonal or special services.
  • Visit residents on assigned floors in healthcare centers, assisted living, and independent living.
  • Meet weekly with the Spiritual Life staff to review schedules and assignments and offer devotions when scheduled.
  • Meet regularly with an assigned chaplain supervisor for field education site supervision.
  • Attend various meetings as selected or assigned, including Assisted Living and Healthcare Resident Council.
  • Initiate and/or participate in other selected activities such as Bible studies and support groups.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in or completed an accredited program of theological or pastoral care studies, or CPE units.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in English, with the ability to speak clearly and loudly enough to be heard in worship settings and during visitation.
  • Physically capable of frequent walking, climbing stairs, kneeling, standing, and pushing residents in wheelchairs as needed.
  • Awareness of and adherence to Presbyterian Homes Corporate Compliance policies, particularly concerning confidentiality, security of information, and the well-being of residents.
