Job Description

The Pastor of Worship and Student Ministries - Marengo is a campus specific position that provides leadership in the creation, coordination, and execution of weekly contemporary worship and student ministries activities. This role also helps with some preaching, pastoral care, and outreach activities. This is a full time ministerial position.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of congregational activities related to worship, student ministries, and other pastoral care activities:
Worship:
Participate in the weekly worship coordination process to ensure the promotion of The Orchard s worship values. Recruit, train, and lead excellent musicians, vocalists, and volunteer worship leaders, to participate in the worship team. Develop the worship team to regularly produce high-quality, dynamic, and enthusiastic worship music consistent with The Orchard s values. Coordinate and manage schedules, rehearsal and sound checks with musicians, vocalists, and tech team. Serve as the primary contemporary worship leader for respective venue. Expected to lead at least three times per month and coordinate coverage when not leading the service. Other worship duties as assigned by the Campus Pastor. These activities may include, but are not limited to, assisting with worship planning for special services or events and supporting ministries with worship teams (Awana, Youth Groups, Celebrate Recovery, Funerals, Weddings etc.)
Youth Ministry:
Lead and grow the Student Ministries programs at Marengo (Middle School and High School students). Recruit, train, coach, and encourage leaders. Minister to and partner with parents in nourishing the lives of students (in person meetings, emails, and phone calls).
General Pastoral Care:
Assist with general pastoral care duties related to the significant life events of members which may include child dedication, baptism, membership, marriage, severe crises, and/or death.
Preaching:
Assist with preaching as needed which may be up to 10-11 times per year.
Other tasks:
Perform other pastoral tasks and campus duties as assigned by the Campus Pastor - Marengo.
Qualifications:
Must seek to walk closely in devotion to God and have a solid understanding of the gospel. Theologically aligned and in agreement with EFCA Statement of Faith and The Orchard s Statement on Human Life and Marriage. 3-5 years of worship leading experience desired. Some preaching and/or teaching experience desired. Undergraduate Theology/Bible degree recommended. Master s of Divinity preferred. Equivalent experience in ministry/leadership will be considered. Must be available to work Sundays from 7:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Ability to organize, analyze and execute tasks in a timely manner. Exercise discretion and good judgment in personal contacts. Ability to communicate effectively with management, members, and volunteers. Demonstrate professionalism through appearance, attitude, and personal interactions. Self-motivated and able to initiate projects and work independently. Computer literate in order to complete necessary tasks within software applications. Positive and supportive attitude.
