Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY/OVERVIEW
The Location Associate Pastor is responsible for providing pastoral leadership and ministry support at a specific Faith Church location, in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the broader church organization. This role supports the advancement of the overall vision and mission of Faith Church at the local level through discipleship, pastoral care, ministry oversight, preaching and teaching support. The Associate Pastor works closely with the Location Lead Pastor and the location leadership team to ensure alignment with centralized church initiatives, foster a Christ-centered and welcoming environment, and promote spiritual growth and community engagement within their local context. This leader partners with staff and volunteers to carry out day-to-day ministry with excellence and care.

Key Responsibilities and Duties Implementing the Mission, Vision, and Values of Faith Church at the location: Collaborate with location staff (e.g., Worship Leader, Faith Kids, Tech Arts) and leadership teams to advance the Faith Church vision within the community Partner with staff and lay leaders to engage the disconnected and deepen discipleship through shared strategies and best practices (e.g., Alpha, The Journey, small groups, bible studies), as assigned Integrate and evaluate high standards of ministry excellence at the location in partnership with the location lead pastor Serve as a visible and relational representative of Faith Church within the local community, cultivating outreach and connection opportunities
Pastoral Responsibilities:
Assist the Location Lead Pastor with communication, scheduling, and logistical coordination for worship services, events, and ministry initiatives, ensuring smooth execution of location activities Teach at weekend worship services, as assigned, and assist in planning service formats in collaboration with the Worship Leader Administer sacraments (eg, communion) and lead membership and baptism classes, as assigned Provide pastoral care and counseling in collaboration with the location lead pastor and elders Officiate weddings, funerals, and other ceremonies as requested Participation in the Life of the Whole Church and its
Partners:
Attend Kingdom Network meetings, participate in denomination teams, and contribute to church-wide teams and task forces as needed Network and collaborate with ministries aligned with Faith Church to share resources and best practices Perform other duties as assigned to support the ministry of Faith Church Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Strong biblical knowledge, theology, and ministry practices, with the ability to apply these principles in leadership and teaching Demonstrated experience working in a ministry context Exhibits a spirit of cooperation, teamwork, and a willingness to learn Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Committed to collaborative teamwork and embodying a servant leadership mindset Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the ministry and the local congregation Proficient in computer skills, including experience with Google Workspace such as Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Drive, enabling efficient communication, collaboration, and document management Education, Licenses, Registrations, Certificates A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is preferred Ordained and commissioned as an elder or as a pastor is required Coursework in theology, bible history, and ministry is essential Years of Work Experience preferred 3+
