Worship and Youth Minister

Job Overview The First Church of Christ in Garrett, Indiana, is seeking a full-time Worship and Youth Minister to join our ministry team. The primary emphasis of this role is the ability to lead the congregation in meaningful, Christ-centered worship each week, guiding them into the presence of God. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership in worship, including proficiency in leading from the guitar, and a heart for fostering authentic, Spirit-led worship experiences. In addition to worship leadership, this individual will provide spiritual guidance for our youth ministry. With a focus of creating engaging, biblically grounded programs that encourage spiritual growth and active participation in the life of the church. First Church of Christ is a non-denominational, independent Christian Church located in DeKalb County, just 20 miles north of Fort Wayne. Our Sunday morning services feature a blended style of worship, combining both traditional and contemporary elements. We currently average 235 attendees across our two services at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.

Weekly Responsibilities:

Worship Minister Plan and select music for Sunday services Coordinate with the church secretary to prepare ProPresenter materials Lead weekly rehearsals in preparation for Sunday worship Lead worship for both Sunday morning services Provide instrumental music during communion Recruit, train, and lead a volunteer worship team Oversee the sound system and support audio/tech volunteers Collaborate with the church secretary to maintain the worship team schedule

Weekly Responsibilities:

Youth Minister Plan and lead all aspects of the junior and senior high ministry, including: Youth group gatherings Small groups Retreats, trips, and special events Develop an annual ministry calendar in collaboration with church leadership Disciple students in their spiritual growth and biblical understanding Train and equip volunteer youth sponsors Create and implement a clear pathway for student discipleship, from outreach to committed faith Maintain active involvement with Lake James Christian Assembly Additional Responsibilities Partner with the Associate Minister to coordinate and oversee Children's Ministry and Sunday School programs Assist with pastoral care, including visitation and support for teens and their families Participate in all church leadership meetings Candidate Qualifications We are prayerfully seeking a candidate who: Is a graduate of a Restoration Movement college or university Is a baptized follower of Jesus Christ with a growing, personal relationship with Him Is willing to submit to the biblical authority, teaching, and leadership of the Elders of First Church of Christ Desires to make this church their home and faithfully invest in building relationships within the congregation and the Garrett community Compensation Salary begins in the low $40,000s and will be determined based on experience.

Pay:

$40,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year
