This is a full-time position
Salary Range:
$42,000 to $54,000
General:
The Youth & Children s Minister will be responsible for leading all programming and activities for children and youth from birth through young adult.
Responsibilities:
In coordination with other church leaders, define a vision for New Brunswick s youth ministry that contributes to the church s overall vision. Develop a ministry plan to achieve that vision, working to keep the vision in front of people. Oversee and coordinate all aspects of New Brunswick s children and youth ministry. This includes, but is not limited to: Children and Youth Programming during Sunday School Children and Youth Programming during the Worship Service - Kids Church Youth Programming on Sunday Evenings. Organize recruitment, training, and planning sessions for the youth leaders/workers. Provide leadership and serve as shepherd to the youth ministry volunteers. Approve all youth ministries programs, curriculum, and activities. Serve as pastor to the students in your care - praying, visiting, counseling, discipling. Plan and oversee special events related to students and families. Oversee and coordinate publicity for youth ministry activities. Develop a relationship with the children and youth by being active or present at their games and activities. Coordinate or lead the students in service within the community or lead them on a short-term missions experience.
Other General Expectations:
Represent the interests of the youth in New Brunswick s care at all decision-making meetings and sessions. Be available to preach and teach in the adult worship service as needed. Participate in general pastoral duties as needed (weddings, funerals, counseling, etc). Walk closely with Christ, living in a manner consistent with a pastoral calling (1 Timothy 3:1-7). Continue pursuing personal spiritual and professional growth through a yearly conference or retreat, and other opportunities as needed. Take a monthly Sabbath.
