Children's Minister Job Description Grace Baptist Church is a growing, multi-generational church in Gardner, Kansas, where ordinary people are being changed by Christ to change the world. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Children's Minister to lead and nurture the spiritual growth of children within our church and community. This vital role involves creating engaging programs, fostering a welcoming environment, and providing spiritual guidance tailored to young hearts and minds. The Children's Minister will serve as a compassionate leader, inspiring children to develop their faith, values, and sense of community through dynamic teaching, mentorship, and outreach initiatives. Role Summary:

Our Children's Minister provides spiritual leadership, vision, and oversight for all children's ministry levels (birth-5th grade). This role exists to help children know Jesus, equip parents, build a vibrant volunteer culture, and help children to understand that they have a role to play in God's Kingdom.

Responsibilities:

Provide age-appropriate opportunities for children to learn about and engage with God, using a curriculum that you have either selected or written. Ensure that the children have a quality experience that is biblical, safe, and engaging. Oversee the children's ministry team. Recruit, train, equip, and develop volunteers to serve in children's ministry. Keep parents/guardians informed about current and future events, curriculum details, and updates on their children's participation. Plan and manage the budget and resources designated for the children's ministry. Take an active role in the life of the church and work alongside church staff to coordinate churchwide ministry objectives.

Qualifications:

A strong personal relationship with Jesus and the ability to lead a child to faith in Jesus. Current and active participation in a local church. Recent history of serving in children's ministry and leading in some capacity. A solid understanding of biblical teachings and ministry principles. The capability to recruit, inspire, and energize volunteers. Proficient administrative abilities. The skill to organize and execute fun and creative events and activities. The ability to effectively communicate with parents or guardians.
