Woodland Park Baptist Church Position Description:
Part Time/Director of Children's Ministry Position Summary The Director of Children's Ministry develops, coordinates, and oversees programs that help children (K-5th) grow in their faith while partnering with parents to support the spiritual development of their children. Duties & Responsibilities Plan, coordinate and oversee the Children's ministry including but not limited to Sunday School, Wednesday nights, Children's Worship, Summer programs, Children's camp and other events in coordination with the Senior pastor and other ministerial staff. Coordinate and oversee Special Events (VBS, Fall Festival, etc) in coordination with the Children's Events Team, Senior pastor and other ministerial staff. Assure that a high-quality Children's Worship is provided for each week during the second service. Coordinate with Senior Pastor, S.A.F.E Team to conduct background checks, develop, post, and enforce security and other policies pertinent to Children's ministry. Work directly with Senior Pastor and other ministerial staff to recruit, train, and schedule all teachers and leaders that serve in the Children's ministry, as well as maintain a current list of all volunteers with contact information and the activity for which they have volunteered. Keep ongoing record of attendance of children and leaders and follow up as necessary. Oversee all budget expenditures for Children's Ministry keeping within approved amounts. Plan/Lead strategic outreach events aimed at engaging unchurch families in our city. Organize classrooms and ensure their safety and cleanliness. Effectively collaborate with other ministries within the church on an ongoing basis. Meet with and pray with families regarding spiritual matters. Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor Organizational Relationships This position will report directly to the Senior Pastor. The Director will recruit, train and supervise Children's department volunteers and leaders. Position Qualifications Prior experience in Family Ministry focusing on Children's ministry and/or, experience with teaching children in a Sunday School setting. Experience in evaluating programs and materials for kids and students.
