Job Description
Broadmoor Baptist Church is a 90-year-old pillar of faith defined by a deep commitment to expository preaching, global missions, and meaningful community. We are a diverse, multi-generational church family, offering Contemporary, Traditional, and Hispanic worship gatherings to ensure every generation and culture feels the love of Jesus the moment they walk through our doors. Our future goals include fostering Everyday Disciples and getting Every One on Mission. There is a genuine sense of expectant joy as we pray for the leader God is preparing to guide us into our next century of ministry. Our Lead Pastor is the spiritual leader of the church and has authority over all worship services. This includes his primary responsibility, preaching God's Word. Aided by the ministry staff, deacons and lay leadership, he will lead the church to engage in worship, Bible study/discipleship, evangelism/missions, pastoral ministry, and administration. In Worship Expound God's word through sermons and devotions. Guide corporate worship by communicating sermon outlines and topics to the worship leaders. Lead the church in the celebration of the Lord's Supper, baptism, and ordination services. Emphasize stewardship as an essential part of worship. In Bible Study/Discipleship Spend time daily in God's word and prayer. Challenge the congregation to do the same. Facilitate training in discipleship. Promote membership and involvement in B Groups (Sunday school) and D Groups. In Evangelism/Missions Encourage personal and corporate outreach and evangelism. Facilitate training in evangelism. Promote B Groups as the primary agents of mission outreach. Develop, plan and promote special evangelistic efforts. In Pastoral Ministry Lead the church by personal example (I Timothy 3:1-7 and I Peter 5:1-4). Provide pastoral ministry to the church family and ministerial staff. In Administration Provide strategic vision and direction. Participate as a member of the executive team. Supervise and guide all ministry staff. Encourage the deacons, directors and church committees. Moderate church business meetings.
