Job Description
The District Pastor is both a spiritual shepherd and mission strategist, responsible for guiding churches toward spiritual vitality, community impact, and gospel multiplication. By integrating pastoral care, biblical teaching, and missional leadership, the pastorequips members and lay leaders, fosters discipleship, and promotes church growth in alignment with the vision of the SouthernNew England Conference. The District Pastor is called to shepherd God's people and to lead missionally, not by doing all things,but by equipping others to do the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12). This leadership model honors Christ, strengthens theChurch, and advances the Kingdom with excellence, clarity, and grace.
Bachelor's degree in Theology (required); Master's degree preferred.
Fluent in English (Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus).Minimum of 5 years of pastoral experience preferred.
Proven ability to lead with both care and vision.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Competence with digital tools and Microsoft 365
WORKING CONDITIONS
Travel Requirements:
The position requires approximately 50-60% monthly travel within the church district this may include: Pastoral care, administration, mission development and conference events. Must reside within 30 minutes of one of the churches in the district.Physical Requirements:
Occasionally be willing to lift 20-30lbs packages at church meetings and or conference events.SKILLS:
Ordained minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church preferred.Bachelor's degree in Theology (required); Master's degree preferred.
