Job Description The Diocesan Missioner for Racial Reconciliation and Priest-in-Charge of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Springfield, MA is a full-time position created to serve the people of St. Peter's and share leadership for the work of racial reconciliation in our diocese, This position reports to the Interim Canon to the Ordinary, collaborates with the Social Justice Commission, and is accountable to the Vestry of St. Peter's, Springfield. Key Responsibilities Work on behalf of the diocese Coordinate ongoing learning and leadership in areas of racial justice including planning trainings, supporting clergy and lay leaders, and serving as a resource to parishes Connect with community organizing groups focused on racial justice in Western MA with an emphasis on greater Springfield Assist the diocese in evaluating organizational structures and polices with a racial justice lens Participate as an ex-officio member of the Social Justice Commission Assist Diocesan Leadership with ongoing efforts to atone for the sin of slavery Work on behalf of St. Peter's Order and lead the regular worship of the congregation including Sundays, Friday healing Eucharist, holy days, baptisms, weddings, and funerals Chair the vestry and oversee the administration of the congregation, including any staff Provide pastoral care for the congregation Connect with the community around St. Peter's and throughout Springfield, with a focus on youth and young adult ministry Type of Commitment Full Time Does this job pay?
