• -Prosperity Methodist Church, an independent church in Flintstone, Maryland is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Pastor.

Our church has been in existence for over 130 years, and we uphold traditional Wesleyan and biblically-based values. We are a close-knit community who works closely on events and ministries among other churches of multiple denominations within the Flintstone community. We seek an individual with Wesleyan-based doctrinal values, vision, spiritual leadership and possesses the qualities found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9: "blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled, holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict."

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

(BUT, NOT

LIMITED TO

):

• Share at least 25% of responsibilities with the Head Pastor for leadership in preaching, corporate worship, the teaching ministry and prayer
• Share responsibilities, as needed, in administering the sacraments of Baptism and Communion according to the method outlined in the bylaws of the church
• Facilitate in encouraging, growing membership, and retaining members
• Share responsibilities with the Pastor, as needed, to provide care and counseling to church members and assist them in times of need and inform the Pastor when visits are needed by the Pastor
• Share responsibilities with the Pastor for home and hospital visits of congregational membership
• Share responsibilities with the Pastor to expand church ministries to strengthen the growth of the congregation and meet the needs of the community
• Commit to the development of our children, youth, young adults and families
• Share responsibilities with the Pastor for member adjoinment, and baby dedications

Requirements:

• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a calling by the Holy Spirit to God's service
• Must read and adhere to the Church's Statement of Faith in word and deed
• Must pass a background check
• At least 1 year of related ministerial experience preferred We invite qualified candidates who are passionate about serving others through their faith to apply for this fulfilling role within our community.
