JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary / Objective The Student Ministry Leader provides leadership and pastoral care for Agapé City Church s Student Ministry, serving middle and high school students and their families through discipleship, community engagement, and volunteer leadership. This role is responsible for shaping a student ministry that is spiritually grounded, relationally healthy, and missionally engaged within the broader community. A central expression of this mission is intentional partnership and presence within the local middle and high school systems, reflecting ACC s commitment to impact the youth of the community beyond the walls of the church. The Student Ministry Leader leads volunteers, partners with parents, and collaborates with staff to ensure students are discipled faithfully and formed within a consistent, aligned family ministry framework. General Job Duties Provide leadership and oversight for the Student Ministry serving grades 6-12. Execute student ministry strategy in alignment with the vision and direction set by the Director of Family Ministries. Recruit, train, equip, and shepherd volunteer leaders, building healthy teams rather than dependency on staff. Plan and lead student gatherings, programs, and discipleship environments with clarity, preparation, and consistency. Discern and implement curriculum and teaching approaches that are appropriate for student formation, in collaboration with the Director of Family Ministries. Establish and maintain meaningful presence and partnerships within local middle and high schools and the broader community. Represent Agapé City Church to students, families, and community partners with maturity, integrity, and approachability.
General Job Duties Continued:
Lead off-weekend initiatives that support student discipleship and relational connection. Partner with parents to support discipleship in the home without replacing parental responsibility. Collaborate with children s and family ministry leaders to ensure alignment across ministries. Essential Functions Build trusting relationships with students and parents. Lead and support volunteers with clear expectations, training, and care. Participate in staff meetings, planning conversations, and collaborative leadership rhythms as directed by the Director of Family Ministries. Engage in church-wide and community events as appropriate to the role. Develop and steward the annual Student Ministry budget in coordination with the Director of Family Ministries. Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and leadership expectations of the role. Essential Competencies Biblically grounded faith and theological clarity Strong relational presence with students and adults Leadership capacity to equip and guide volunteer teams Ability to communicate clearly with students, parents, and leaders Organizational reliability and follow-through Adaptability and sound judgment Humility, confidence, and emotional maturity Ability to steward people, time, and resources well Required Education, Experience, and Membership Demonstrated experience leading in student ministry or a related context Experience working with volunteers, students, and families Alignment with the mission, theology, and leadership philosophy of Agapé City Church Engaged member, or willing to become a member, of Agapé City Church Willingness to support and submit to the leadership established by the church
