Discipleship Experience Lead Reports to:
Executive Pastor Hours:
Part-time, up to 20 hours per week Position Summary The Discipleship Experience Lead will guide Riverwood Covenant Church in helping people take their next step of faith, no matter where they are on their Christian journey. This leader will design, build, and oversee pathways that foster spiritual maturity, develop leaders, and multiply opportunities for discipleship through small groups, cohorts, and classes. Key Responsibilities Meet People Where They Are Create and oversee a discipleship pathway that helps people move from new faith to spiritual maturity. Identify and communicate "next steps" in discipleship for every level of spiritual maturity. Provide a welcoming on-ramp for those new to faith (Alpha for example) and pathways for deepening spiritual maturity. Develop Small Groups & Cohorts Develop plan (timing, team, cost, etc) to start and oversee small groups at Riverwood Build specialized 6-12 month cohorts focused on specific growth objectives (e.g., missions, evangelism, ministry, leadership, etc) Support and equip group leaders to foster healthy, multiplying discipleship environments. Provide Classes & Learning Opportunities Design and implement classes that help people grow in biblical knowledge, spiritual practices, and Christian living. Develop a rhythm of discipleship-oriented learning experiences that complement groups and Sunday gatherings. Build Teams & Leaders Recruit, equip, and empower a team of leaders to multiply discipleship opportunities across the church. Foster a culture of discipleship where leaders raise up new leaders. Create systems for ongoing leadership training and support. Culture & Integration Collaborate with other ministry leads to integrate discipleship into the whole life of Riverwood (worship, kids, youth, fellowship, Sunday experience, fellowship experience, operations, etc). Help the church live out a culture of discipleship, where making and multiplying disciples is central to who we are. Desired Outcomes Every person at Riverwood knows their next step in discipleship. A healthy system of groups, cohorts, and classes is growing and multiplying. The Discipleship Ministry Team is growing in numbers and spiritual maturity. Leaders are being identified, equipped, and released into ministry. Discipleship is not a program but a way of life woven into the fabric of Riverwood. Qualifications A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a lifestyle reflecting spiritual maturity and integrity. Passion for making disciples and helping others grow in their walk with Christ. Strong relational and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire, train, and empower servants/volunteers. Ability to design, organize, and implement discipleship systems and structures. Experience leading small groups, teaching, or developing leaders preferred. Expectations Work collaboratively with the Executive Pastor, staff, and volunteer leaders to align discipleship efforts with the overall mission and vision of Riverwood. Be present at Tuesday staff meetings. Be present and engaged with the congregation on Sundays and at discipleship events. Commit to up to 20 hours per week, with flexibility for ministry needs.
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
