Job Description:

Rush City Baptist Church, located in Rush City, Minnesota, is seeking an individual to join the Pastoral Staff in the role of an Associate Pastor of Family Ministries. This is an opportunity to serve God with a vibrant church congregation that is ready to build on over 125 years of ministry. The church is seeking a pastor with a heart for families in a small town and rural ministry.

Associate Pastor Overview:

The purpose of the Associate Pastor of Family Ministries is to help advance mission of Rush City Baptist Church by delighting in God and sharing his love with children, youth, and families in our community and the greater world. The church is seeking an Associate Pastor of Family Ministries with effective communication and relational skills who has a desire for spiritual growth. The primary role of the Associate Pastor is to plan and participate in the ministries that support the mission of the church, and to organize and lead a team of volunteers that have a passion to see children, youth and families come to Christ and grow in their faith.

Responsibilities Leadership:

Lead our children's, youth and family-based ministries, such as Awana, Youth Group and multi-generational family-based Bible studies. Seek to find biblical solutions and additional resources to accomplish God's plan for the church.

Lay Leadership:

Identify and develop gifted men and women for service in ministry and in their own families. Continually evaluate effectiveness of programs and propose creative ideas for improvement. Collaboratively lead and oversee the lay leadership for successful ministry in the community. Provide ongoing discipleship, mentoring, and spiritual oversight.

Shepherding:

Relational Care:

Intentionally seek to know Rush City Baptist Church and the surrounding community, demonstrate hospitality, actively listen, provide biblical instruction, and desire to care for those who don't know Christ. Teach parents how to accept their God given responsibility for the discipleship of their own children. Intentionally disciple the youth to be future faith-filled leaders and set up programs to facilitate spiritual growth.

Community Outreach:

Promote the Gospel and Rush City Baptist Church through volunteer opportunities in the community. Develop and maintain effective relationships with various leaders in the community for purposes of swift outreach programs. Occasionally speak to the church and/or give sermons.

Personal Missions:

Have a heart to reach the lost and disciple the Church Administrative Prepare and steward various ministry budgets. Administer and plan numerous programs like evangelism, retreats and Bible study sessions. Collaborate with Senior Pastor in choosing curriculum for Sunday School and Youth Group. Perform duties per our Ministry Safe policy and conduct routine background checks and training as needed Characteristics Demonstrates a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced in daily life and exhibits the character qualities outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4 Earnestly seeks God's will above all other possible motivations Seeks and promotes prayer as a priority, both personally and in the life of the church Demonstrates a passionate, heartfelt love for children, youth, and families with a Christ-like concern for their spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional well-being as individuals and as part of their families Exhibits Christ's love by developing positive and encouraging relationships within the church body Be a competent teacher of the Bible and theology of the Christian faith, and be willing to seek further education and skills as necessary and/or appropriate Possess the ability to teach/model how Scripture informs our lives and how we live. Exhibit effective organizational planning and timely follow-through Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to work well with church staff and volunteers.

Job Qualifications:

2 year degree or certificate from a seminary or bible college preferred; teaching experience Be willing to become a member of the church Be willing to relocate to the Rush City area Be committed to the vision, mission, affirmation of faith and ministry at Rush City Baptist Church Provide strong recommendations and references Possess a personal background that reflects strong moral and ethical character
