The Discipleship Pastor will play a vital role in Alliance s mission to become and multiply fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ by supporting the establishment, development, and health of Life Groups, Connection Groups, Discipleship Groups, Core Classes, and by overseeing the Men s Ministry.

- An undergraduate or seminary degree in Bible or related fields (e.g. theology, pastoral studies, etc.) is required. Experience/Skills

Must have strong administrative and organizational skills, persuasive interpersonal skills, and ability to quickly adapt in a changing work environment. Someone with a passion to see adults become and multiply fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. In agreement with the ABF Doctrinal Statement, and a willingness to be ordained. Must be or become a member of Alliance Bible Fellowship. Meets the qualifications of an Elder (1 Timothy 3, Titus 1).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plant and establish new Life Groups to meet the needs of our congregation. Develop and maintain a training network for Life Group Leaders. Provide ongoing training opportunities for current Life Group Leaders (regular communication, annual gatherings, and a coaching network). Streamline and strengthen the shepherding ministry between ABF Elders and Life Group Leaders. Provide a weekly sermon discussion guide to every Life Group Leader. Create and maintain a clear pathway for members to engage in a Life Group. Oversee and support the Connection Group ministry on Sunday mornings. Develop new groups when needed. Lead the Men s Ministry. Serve on the Men s Ministry Leadership Team and oversee the objectives for the Men s Ministry. Develop a culture of discipleship, prayer, and service within the Men s Ministry. Maintain Men s Ministry databases (Email list, Discipleship Groups, etc.). Provide resources and trainings for Discipleship Group leaders and members. Create and maintain a clear pathway for members to engage in a Discipleship Group. Support the Men s Ministry classes and Bible Studies, teaching when necessary. Oversee the Wednesday night Core Course. Plan compelling series, develop new teachers, and communicate the courses to the church each semester. Handle pastoral needs in each ministry. Preach and teach when necessary. Troubleshoot ministry conflicts and challenges.
TIME REQUIREMENTS
The Discipleship Pastor will necessarily have to work some evenings and weekends to fulfill his responsibilities. He will attempt to schedule as much time as possible to be at church during normal business hours, so as to be available to the body in general.
