Job Description Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Tryon, NC seeks to call its next Priest-in-Charge (Part-time) to join their historic, hospitable parish community in ministry. They seek a faithful Priest with strong skills in preaching and teaching that connects scripture with current events, who can plan and lead worship that integrates music that honors the community's identity, and who has strong relational skills with energy to care as pastor for the parish and wider community. Good Shepherd is a historically black Episcopal church, with active and vibrant lay leaders who are eager to grow into their next chapter as a community of faith. Tryon is located on the "First Peak of the Blue Ridge" in the Diocese of Western North Carolina, and is home to The Tryon Fine Arts Center, the Tryon International Equestrian Center, and the birthplace and historic home of Nina Simone, located just down the street from Good Shepherd.
