Minister of Music and Arts 149 Springfield Ave, Newark, NJ 07103 From $70,000 a year - Full-time From $70,000 a year - Full-time Full-Time Minister of Music & Arts Metropolitan Baptist Church | Newark, NJ Metropolitan Baptist Church is seeking a passionate, experienced, and spiritually grounded Minister of Music & Arts to lead a dynamic and growing Fine Arts Ministry. This full-time leadership role oversees music, dance, drama, and collaboration with media teams to create meaningful worship experiences that honor God and inspire the congregation. The ideal candidate is a gifted worship leader, choir director, and ministry builder with strong musical skills, administrative excellence, and the ability to lead across generations and worship styles. Candidates should have at least 5 years of comparable experience, formal musical training, and a heart for shepherding people through worship and the arts.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee all aspects of the Music & Arts Ministry Plan and execute weekly worship services and special events with excellence Direct choirs, bands, praise teams, and volunteers Collaborate with senior leadership to align worship with church vision Manage ministry budget, resources, and technical needs Coordinate music support for weddings, funerals, and church functions Foster spiritual growth, artistic development, and team culture

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of ministry/music leadership experience Bachelor's Degree in Music (preferred) Strong vocal coaching, arranging, and band direction skills Proficiency in traditional, contemporary, and blended worship styles Experience with Planning Center, ProPresenter, DAWs, and production systems Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
