Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Conservative Rabbi to serve as spiritual leader and community guide for our congregation. This vital role involves fostering a vibrant Jewish life rooted in Conservative traditions, providing spiritual support, and strengthening community bonds. The ideal candidate will have the skillset to read the Torah, give Dvar Torahs, provide, leadership, and a deep understanding of Jewish teachings to enrich the lives of congregants across all ages and backgrounds. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through religious education, pastoral care, and community engagement. Duties Lead weekly Shabbat services, holiday celebrations, and special ceremonies with enthusiasm and reverence. Offer bereavement support and compassionate counseling to individuals and families navigating grief or personal crises. Deliver engaging teaching sessions on Torah, Talmud, Jewish law, and ethics to diverse age groups within the congregation. Serve as a pastoral counselor, providing guidance on spiritual matter when appropriate. Plan and coordinate community events, educational programs, and outreach initiatives that promote Jewish values and unity. Develop and deliver compelling public speeches and presentations to inspire congregation members and the wider community. Mentor emerging leaders within the congregation to foster future growth and leadership development. Manage conflict resolution efforts with sensitivity, ensuring a harmonious community environment. Oversee crisis intervention efforts in times of emergency or community distress with calm professionalism. Collaborate with lay leaders to enhance worship experiences and strengthen community programs. Experience Proven experience as a Rabbi or spiritual leader within a Conservative Jewish setting or similar faith community. Extensive knowledge of Jewish law (Halacha), customs, rituals, and traditions aligned with Conservative Judaism. Strong background in teaching Torah, Talmud, and Jewish ethics through engaging methods suited for all ages. Demonstrated ability in bereavement support, hospice care principles, and crisis management techniques. Excellent communication skills—public speaking, writing, and interpersonal—to connect effectively with diverse audiences. Experience in event planning, leadership development, mentoring emerging leaders, and conflict management strategies. Ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
