• Full-time We desire a Pastor that is an ardent student of God's Word whose preaching style is expository and sequential.

He should preach boldly, with clarity and applicability, encouraging listeners to apply God's Word in their daily lives, desiring to heed the charge Paul gave to Timothy to "preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching … always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry." The Pastor should also love and enjoy people, relating well to them in a sincere and humble way. The Pastor will labor with the Elders to shepherd the local flock. Together, they will be responsible to oversee the overall spiritual life, growth and ministries of the church

The Pastor should possess some level of pastoral counseling skills. When a situation calls for counseling beyond the Pastor's expertise or time limitations, the Pastor should refer individuals/families to professional biblical counselors for appropriate attention. The Pastor will be encouraged to experience professional growth by meeting with likeminded Pastors and Elders for study, discipleship, and mutual encouragement, in addition to pertinent classes/seminars/conferences. B.A. from a Christian college or university, or M. Div. Agreement with doctrinal statement, church covenant and constitution of CBC. 1. Preacher/Teacher

• Passion for God, his word and the gospel a.

He will preach the word of God, the whole counsel of God, at worship services. b. He will regularly teach subjects where pastoral perspective and biblical depth are needed. c. He will, along with the elders, protect the church from error and false teaching. d. He will, with the elders, officiate and oversee the ordinances: baptism and the Lord's Supper. e. He will officiate at church weddings and funerals. 2. Pastoral Care

He will team with the elders in caring for God's people. b. He will be available to offer biblical counseling. c. He will meet/counsel with those interested in baptism. d. He will conduct pre-marital counseling for couples he marries. e. Along with the elders, he will correct believers who fall into sin. f. Along with the elders, he will pray for the congregation and the ministry. 3. Leadership/Administration a. He will lead in executing elder-endorsed CBC initiatives that advance the gospel. b. He will oversee worship services, in coordination with the worship team(s). c. Along with the elders, he will oversee the health of CBC ministries. d. He will conduct, when applicable, a new membership class for new member candidates.
