Childrens Minister

This is a full-time position that is responsible to the Lead Pastor and the church as a whole for directing a comprehensive discipleship ministry for children (birth to 6th grade) and parents/caregivers.

Role and Responsibilities:

Comprehensive ministry of children's discipleship (birth through 6th grade)Assimilating children and parents into the overall life of the churchRecruit, train, and oversee Children's Ministry volunteers Plan, coordinate, and lead effective Wednesday night (Kids! Cross+Training) ministryPlan, coordinate, and lead effective Sunday morning Children's classesPlan, coordinate, and lead effective children's camps and eventsIdentify training opportunities for parents/families in family discipleship (family worship, discipling children, spiritual leadership, etc.)Ministerial care in coordination with pastors and other ministersOther duties as Lead Pastor directs

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's degree, and/or Biblical training preferredCompetence in child development, programming, education/discipleship, organization, and leader recruiting and mobilizationKnowledge of policies including but not limited to budgeting, child protective issuesUnderstanding of Wednesday night and Sunday morning ministry models and ability to implement themDemonstrated heart for, and ability to interact with, children-birth through 6th gradeDemonstrated heart for, and ability to interact with, parents/caregiversStrong administrative skillsStrong leadershipStrong people skillsStrong communication skillsCompassionate heartAbility to advance children's ministry to increasing levels of effectivenessWill be an active member of Arrow Heights Baptist ChurchBiblical, doctrinal, and theological acumen in alignment with Arrow Heights statements of faith and the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
