Bachelor's Degree Board certification (or eligible for certification) by Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy (CPSP). If not Board Certified at time of hire, must complete Board Certification within 18 months of hire. Endorsement by a recognized faith community and ordination by a recognized faith community
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
2 years of experience in hospice setting Master's of Divinity from a seminary accredited by the Association of Theological Schools or a similarly credentialed accrediting agency Clinical Pastoral Education The Chaplain responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Visits newly admitted patients and their families to offer support, spiritual assistance and assess the need for return visits Responds to all calls for chaplaincy services including crisis calls, requests for patients and families and referrals from hospital staff Serves as a group leader for support groups designed to help persons cope with traumatic events in their lives Leads education and training events; and teaches in the clinical pastoral education program Coordinates the visits of chaplain residents, CPE students and Pastoral Care Volunteers Writes bereavement letters for families who have experienced the death of a family member Supervises the planning and implementation of worship for special services in the hospital Represents
